73 prisoners of conscience still in Korea
Minkahyup disclosed the number of prisoners of conscience.

Due to the National Security Law, 152 people have been captured under the Roh government and ten of them are prisoned at present.

Minkahyup, ’Families Association for Active Movement of Democracy’ addressed Wednesday that Korea had seventy-three prisoners of conscience and sixteen of them were related to the National Security Law.

Korean prisoners of conscience include 35 wokers, 9 college student, 5 victims of forced removal, 5 farmers and 22 activists.

The photographer Lee Siwoo is also one of the them.

The number of prisoners under the National Security Law has continuously been decreased but still far from the zero.
