The U.S. and the Lee Myung Bak regime of South Korea are staging the aggressive “Key Resolve” and “Foal Eagle” joint military exercises against DPRK from March 9.

Those exercises doubled the period of the exercises comparing with the past. They are mobilizing hundreds of thousands of US and South Korea troops, including more than 26,000 US soldiers stationed in South Korea and overseas, the “George Washington” and “Stennis” task force, super-large nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, four Aegis cruisers, even destroyers and nuclear-powered subs of the U.S. navy, etc.

Before the exercises, the U.S. brought 12 F-16 fighter bombers and more than 400 air force troops to the Suwon air force base in South Korea and deployed dozens of overseas-based aircraft to South Korean bases.

The exercises are exceptionnal by the number of troops involved and duration. They are also extremely adventurous. The attack operations are characterized by arms buildup, infiltration into the rear, ground attack, coastal landing and surprise attack operations in contingency on the Korean Peninsula. They are, at the same time, a test war and nuclear war exercises for preemptive strikes on the DPRK from the land, sea and air.

Particulary, these war exercises were kicked off at a time when the U.S. and the Lee group of South Korea have mobilized huge ground and coastal interceptor means in a bid to prevent the DRPK from launching a satellite for peaceful purpose.

All facts clearly prove that “stability” and “peace” on the Korean Peninsula touted by the U.S. are nothing but sophism and they are the war maniacs seeking the escalated tension of the Korean Peninsula and the obstacles of the peace and reunification.

The Supreme Command of Korean People’s Army issued an order to all the servicepersons to be fully combat ready and follow every move of the US and South Korea with vigilance in view of the grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula and deal merciless retaliatory blows at them.

Also, the General Staff of the KPA gravely clarified that the KPA will counter the enemies’ any slight hostile acts of violating the sovereignty of the country and intruding into its inviolable territory, territorial waters and territorial air with prompt merciless military actions and will retaliate any act of intercepting our satellite for peaceful purposes with prompt counter strikes by the most powerful military means.

The measures of the KPA Supreme Command and the General Staff are the just self-defensive measures to prevent the fierce flame of the war on and to safeguard the peace on the Korean Peninsula .

If our army does not check the new war provocative maneuvers of the U.S. imperialists and the Lee Myung Bak regime of south Korea with these measures in time, the second Korean War will break out on Korean Peninsula and the peace and security of the Northeast Asia and world will be extremely threatened.
